OFI researcher, Barb Neis, a Professor at Memorial's Department of Sociology, received the Order of Canada for her work to advance environmental protection and human health, especially as it relates to the unique applications within Canada’s coastal communities. In 2017, Dr. Neis also received Memorial University’s John Lewis Paton Distinguished University Professorship.
