Extension Grants

Previous Seed Fund recipients are encouraged to apply for up to $50,000 in commercialization funding after completing a Lab2Market program.

All proposed projects must align with the Transforming Climate Action (TCA) program themes. Additional information on TCA themes can be found here.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a researcher at Dalhousie University, L'Université du Québec à Rimouski, Université Laval, or Memorial University
  • Have received Seed Funding previously
  • Have completed one of the following programs:

How to apply

To submit your application, please follow these steps:

  1. Prepare the following documents:
  1. Completed application form
  2. Budget justification spreadsheet
  3. Curriculum Vitae. (maximum two pages per person; if submitting multiple CVs, compile them into a single file)
  1. Complete the Seed Fund-Excluded Reviewers Form to submit a list of individuals you prefer not to review your application (Optional)
  2. Complete the Checklist Confirmation Form (required before submitting your application)
  3. Email all required documents to: seedfund@dal.ca

Review process

Applicants will be:

  • Considered on a rolling basis until funding is allocated. Future funding is not guaranteed.
  • Considered and assessed on the following criteria:
  • Opportunity for the extension grant to advance the research to the next fundable stage of development (25%)
  • Consideration of commercialization opportunity and strategy (25%)
  • Insights leveraged from Lab2Market to focus and advance research (25%)
  • Robustness of EDIA strategy (25%)
