About

Cecilia Khamete

Cecilia has more than seven years of experience working in government, non-governmental organizations, and higher education in the areas of conflict management and career services with a focus on incorporating equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA) into programs and policies she has worked on in these areas.

While most of Cecilia’s experience in the field of EDIA has been reactive, supporting those who have experienced discrimination in the workplace in their journey of self-advocacy, she is excited to contribute in a more proactive manner at the Ocean Frontier Institute by supporting the development of the EDIA strategy, stakeholder engagement and education.

She has an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice Studies and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Dalhousie University.

In her personal time, Cecilia likes to go snowboarding in the winter and hiking and exploring Nova Scotia’s hidden treasures in the summer.
