Introduction

Ocean-based climate mitigation solutions are required to achieve net zero.

It is anticipated that annual ocean-based carbon removal will need to reach the multi-gigaton scale - the same scale as today's global oil and gas industry.

The Ocean-Climate Solutions Summit will gather leaders from science, technology, finance, and policy to understand the strengths, gaps, and opportunities to create an aligned value chain.

Cambridge, Massachusetts (The Engine)

The Oceans Stream at Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) is a leading global ocean accelerator program for massively scalable, seed-stage, science- and technology-based companies. The program employs an objectives-based mentoring process by a curated group of accomplished entrepreneurs, angel investors, economists, and scientists who are active in the ocean industry. CDL startup founders work with these mentors to sharpen objectives, prioritize time and resources, raise capital, and engage with experts working on the frontiers of research.

Monitoring, reporting and verification for mCDR technical roadmap workshop

9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Cambridge, Massachusetts (TBD)

The workshop will bring together up to 30 experts to initiate a technology roadmap for Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) for marine Carbon Dioxide Removal (mCDR). The roadmap will focus on required technology development to effectively implement MRV. IEEE will provide support to facilitate the meeting and create the roadmaps, as well as host and distribute the reports/roadmaps after the meeting. The desired MRV for mCDR roadmap is intended to complement and extend the existing mCDR Roadmaps developed by Ocean Visions. Hosted by IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society.
