About the conference
Sponsored by the Ocean Frontier Institute, this international conference will bring together researchers from diverse fields, providing opportunities to develop new collaborations and build on existing partnerships.
The conference will consist of a mixture of practical workshops and topical sessions on the topics of:
- trophic ecology
- aquaculture
- biotechnology/bioresources
- lipid biomarkers
- And more
There will also be a dedicated poster session on parallel topics and opportunities for casual interactions, including catered lunches, refreshment breaks and evening events.
Three lipids conferences have been held previously: in France in 2018 and online in 2020 and 2021 hosted by Portugal.
About lipids
Lipids have many roles in marine ecosystems and are recognized as essential nutrients, food web tracers, valuable biomolecules, and indicators of organism health. They provide the densest form of energy in marine ecosystems.
Studies within these broad areas of lipid research are multidisciplinary, involving:
