Hosted by the Government of Spain, the 2024 Ocean Decade Conference will bring together the global Ocean Decade community and partners to celebrate and take stock of progress, and set joint priorities for the future.
The event will cover Ocean Decade challenges, including the following critical issues:
- Climate change
- Food security
- Sustainable management of biodiversity
- Sustainable ocean economy
- Pollution
- Natural hazards
The Ocean Frontier Institute will be taking part in events and meetings to:
- Highlight Canada’s Transforming Climate Action (TCA) research program
- Emphasize the critical importance of coordinated ocean data
- Promote the North Atlantic Carbon Observatory (NACO) as a model for improving climate forecasts through global collaboration
- Explore marine carbon dioxide removal as a safe climate solution
