Maggie joined the Glider Team at OTN in May of 2024. She’s excited to learn more about gliders in the coming months and get involved with the maintenance, repairs, deployments and retrieval processes.
Maggie received her MSc in Fisheries Science and Technology from the Marine Institute in Newfoundland. During her time in Newfoundland, she worked on multiple research projects focused in the Baffin Island (Nunavut) region. First, she studied the gear used in the Greenland halibut fishery, looking at ways to reduce bycatch in the gillnet and longline fisheries. She then moved on to help with a project studying small scale inshore fisheries near multiple Baffin Island communities.
