Event overview
Art and science are complementary ways of understanding the world that, together, open new ways of seeing. Nunatsiavummiut Art for Sustainability, an exciting new exhibit, reflects this thinking.
The featured artworks were created through the Sustainable Nunatsiavut Futures Arts Collective, an initiative of the Sustainable Nunatsiavut Futures (SNF) research project. Using photography, textiles, beadwork, sculpture, and mixed media, each artist has addressed key issues shaping life in Nunatsiavut, such as climate change, food security, and self-determination. These works invite reflection on how knowledge is formed, whose voices are heard, and how more just and responsive futures might be imagined.
Registration details
The exhibit will include an opening reception on May 23 at 2pm, with artist demonstrations starting at 2:30. There will be a panel event featuring three SNF artists on May 24 from 2 until 4 pm. Tickets for the panel are available here.
